We're hitched!

Sweet relief

What can be said about such a perfect weekend? Nothing could have prepared me for the events of the last three days. On the list of Jake's Big Things, the wedding has firmly placed itself in the #1 spot and will not be dislodged for a long time, if ever.

Arielle and I still can't quite get over that fact that all of this happened. And we really can't get over the fact that it all happened so well. This was in no small part due to the extremely generous and patient nature of our family and friends who made the weekend what it was. Thank you so much, all of you, for your love and support. Sharing our peculiar sense of fun with you made our days and we hope it made yours too.

We had planned to get out of town to begin our camping trip today, but the hazardous state of our apartment prompted a change in plans. And, believe it or not, after several hours of cleaning and multiple trips out to the Dumpster, it's a habitable place again.

We're planning for an early departure tomorrow. When we return I'll post some pictures of the trip as well as some wedding shots and other goodies that set my nerd-heart aflutter just thinking about them.

Weddings like this one don't just happen believe me I've seen a lot of them in the past thirty years. With the danger of sounding like a overly proud father I must say that Jake and Arielle showed use what a mariage ceremony can and should be. Friends and Family getting together to honor and support the newly wed couple. After arriving home I quickly download the many digital photo files from the day and also took a quick review of the video tape I shot of the street car trip and ceremony. The modern marvals of todays technology will allow us to relive the beautiful day for years to come. May you both remember that all of us are here to support you in good times and in bad. We love you so much.
