Nearby hotels and motels
There are two hotels that are relatively close to our apartment and the ceremony site: the Best Western American Inn and the independent Lakeland Inn (which was dubbed 'Best Motel' in the year 2000 by one local free press). Both hotels are only minutes from the wedding site as well as Uptown and the lakes. Further information about both places are provided below:
Best Western American Inn
3924 Excelsior Boulevard
Minneapolis, MN 55416
(952) 927-7731
$75-$90
Call soon to make your reservation. We tried holding a block of rooms but
they require a month lead time on these kind of things. So no dice. But
they do have rooms available, so go grab them while you can.
"The Best Western American Inn is conveniently located in a quiet suburban
neighborhood just one mile from the city lakes, five miles from downtown
Minneapolis, the Convention Center and the Metrodome. Just 12 miles from
the Mall of America. During your stay here you will enjoy the best small
property ambiance with complimentary deluxe continental breakfast each
morning, comfortable guest rooms, free front door parking and a friendly
staff that provides guests with only the best service."
Lakeland Inn
4025 Hwy. 7
Saint Louis Park, MN 55416
(952) 926-6575
$50-$75
There are 5 rooms held on Sunday night under Jake's name -- two non-smoking rooms
with two beds, two smoking rooms with two beds, and one non-smoking room with one
bed. There are probably more available on Sunday night as well as the other
nights. Call the number above to make a reservation.
"Located 1/2 mile east of Hwy. 100 on Cty. 25 (old Hwy. 7 East). Clean &
quiet. Free cable TV, including HBO & The Movie Channel. Complimentary
coffee. Restaurants nearby. 6 blocks to Lake Calhoun, 1 mile to
Methodist Hospital, 3 miles to Knollwood Shopping Center, 5 miles to
Downtown Minneapolis & 15 min. to Mall of America & Minneapolis/St. Paul
airport. Non-smoking rooms available. V, MC, AE, DI, DC."
If the two hotels listed above are full, or if you want to stay somewhere else, we are pretty close to downtown Minneapolis, which has a lot of nice (and surprisingly affordable) places to stay. The closest suburbs are St. Louis Park, Edina, and Golden Valley.
